Job summary
Honeywell Northford, CT seeks a Manufacturing Process Engineer – Electronic Assembly / PCBA to drive automated and manual electronic assembly processes from NPI through mature production, with emphasis on FPY, OEE, safety, and cost. You will collaborate across Operations, Quality, R&D, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and external partners to deliver data-driven processes globally.
You will report to the Sr Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Manager and operate 100% on-site in Northford, contributing
Qualifications
- 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in electronic assembly.
- Hands-on SMT, soldering, inspection, test, automation.
- Knowledge of SPC, CPk, PFMEA, and designed experiments.
- Experience documenting manufacturing processes and supporting NPI/engineering changes.
- Ability to collaborate with global, cross-functional teams in English.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%, including international travel.
Responsibilities
- Own and improve automated and manual electronic assembly processes (SMT, through-hole, soldering, inspection).
- Develop process specs, setup sheets, control plans, PFMEAs, and work instructions.
- Support NPI builds, tooling readiness, process validation, and production releases.
- Apply SPC, DOE, and defect analysis to improve FPY, OEE, throughput, and labor productivity.
- Troubleshoot process, material, design, and equipment issues; implement corrective actions.
- Create/optimize equipment programs, fixtures, and test interfaces.
- Implement automated visual inspection systems and automation including robotics.
- Partner with Maintenance for preventive/predictive maintenance and obsolescence planning.
- Ensure controls meet product, quality, safety, and ESG requirements.
- Lead Lean/Six Sigma projects and capital initiatives; manage scope, cost, and risk.
