Intuit is seeking a payroll tax professional to join Payroll Tax Operations, supporting notices, corrections, amendments, and pay & file processes. The Senior Payroll Tax Processor will handle high-volume cases with independence, mentoring colleagues, and growing technical depth.

This remote, hourly role offers flexibility with 20–40 hours per week and overtime eligibility, serving as a key contributor to accurate fiscal operations across multiple jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• Hands-on payroll tax experience with notice resolution and amended return prep.
• Experience resolving State/Federal payroll tax notices independently.
• Knowledge of tax payment and filing regulations across jurisdictions.
• Proficiency with payroll platforms and case management systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication with agencies.

Responsibilities

• Execute full-cycle payroll tax case work for assigned accounts, including audits and filings.
• Research and resolve complex State and Federal notices, owning cases from intake to closure.
• Prepare amended payroll tax returns (Form 941-X, state equivalents).
• Support payroll correction workflows and document audit trails.
• Prioritize cases by SLA, manage aging cases, and document activity thoroughly.
• Perform high-level trend analysis to identify process deficiencies.
• Contribute to SOP/KB updates and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
