Job summary

ICON is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist II for a 6 month contract in Austin, TX. The role is full-time and onsite, reporting to the head of Total Rewards.

You will manage end-to-end payroll in Workday, ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, and coordinate with Accounting and external payroll vendors. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in multi-state payroll, proficiency with Workday, and strong attention to data accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of multi-state payroll and benefits administration experience.
• Proficiency with Workday’s payroll and benefits modules.
• Experience with retirement plan administration (3+ years).
• Strong communication and data accuracy skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer end-to-end payroll processing in Workday.
• Ensure payroll accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with Accounting to reconcile payroll accounts.
• Manage relationships with external payroll treasury vendor.
• Audit and reconcile benefit deductions and contributions.
• Act as main contact for payroll inquiries.
• Prepare government reports and filings on time.
