Job Description: Senior Payroll Specialist
Reports To: Corporate Controller
Summary: Under the supervision of the SVP of Finance, the Accounts Payable / Payroll Coordinator processes accounts payable invoices and bi-weekly payroll.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process data entry for multi-state payroll under strict deadlines, ensuring compliance with all state and federal laws.
- Process multi-state bi-weekly payroll for 8+ entities, totaling more than 350 employees and 1099 workers.
- Manage state and local agency registrations.
- Create and audit payroll inputs (hours worked, bonuses, deductions, time-off, etc.) for accuracy and policy compliance.
- Prepare month-end reconciliations and reports according to department policies and procedures.
- Assist in ensuring payroll tax authorities are correctly set up and payments are made through the payroll software.
- Support annual reporting processes.
- Identify and implement continuous process improvements.
- Provide superior customer service to internal and external customers.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.

Qualifications:
- Ability to read and interpret compliance and safety documents, manuals, reports, and correspondence.
- Basic math skills; ability to work with percentages, ratios, and calculations.
- Problem-solving skills; interpret instructions in written or oral form.
- Intermediate knowledge of payroll software, Microsoft Office, and internet applications.
Education and Experience:
- Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 5+ years payroll experience.
- Strong organizational, customer service, and attention to detail skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Suite; familiarity with Sage Intacct and Rippling preferred.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to travel to client facilities as needed. Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, type, reach, and lift up to 40 pounds.

Compensation & Benefits:
Salary: $65,000 - $70,000
