Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Payroll Accountant to support complex, high-volume payroll operations within a large enterprise environment. This role requires deep experience in multi-state payroll processing, tax reporting, and reconciliation, with the ability to quickly take ownership of tasks and operate independently. The position is based in Pittsburgh, PA, with a hybrid schedule (4 days onsite), and is expected to contribute immediately with minimal ramp-up time.

Key Responsibilities

• Advanced Payroll Processing: Lead execution of complex payroll cycles, including multi-state and multi-entity payroll.
• Reconciliation & Issue Resolution: Analyze and resolve complex payroll discrepancies and ensure data accuracy.
• Tax & Compliance Leadership: Oversee payroll tax reporting and ensure compliance across jurisdictions.
• System Utilization: Work within enterprise payroll systems (ADP, Oracle) to manage and optimize processes.
• Operational Execution: Handle high-priority and time-sensitive payroll tasks with speed and accuracy.
• Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate across teams to resolve issues and improve processes.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of payroll experience.
• Strong experience with US payroll processing, tax reporting, and reconciliation.
• Experience managing payroll across multiple states and legal entities.
• Ability to work independently and deliver results quickly.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with Oracle payroll systems.
• ADP SmartCompliance experience.
• Experience in large, in‑house payroll environments.
