This role plays a key part in ensuring timely, accurate payroll processing while supporting cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You'll do:
  1. Maintain up-to-date and audit-ready payroll records and documentation.
  2. Review and reconcile payroll data from Workday (HRIS) and ADP (Payroll system), and support Finance with payroll-to-GL reconciliations.
  3. Participate in analysis according to Finance department questions (FP&A, Accounting, etc.)
  4. Respond to employee payroll inquiries with professionalism and a customer-first mindset.
  5. Partner with HR, Benefits, and Finance teams to align payroll processes with organizational goals and ensure accurate reporting.
  6. Ensure compliance with internal company policies.
  7. Lead payroll-related projects such as system upgrades, new benefit rollouts impacting payroll, and automation initiatives.
  8. Coordinate timelines, cut-off dates, and approvals in alignment with local and global requirements.
  9. Contribute to global payroll transformation initiatives and process harmonization projects, including defining payroll production and control standards.
  10. Train and mentor junior payroll team members as the team grows.
  11. Collaborate with other payroll team members on a case-by-case basis, sharing expertise on specific issues without impacting primary responsibilities.
  12. US Payroll Responsibilities (In-house): Process and manage payroll across multiple US states, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; ensure accurate and timely payroll cycles; prepare and file payroll tax reports; stay current with wage & hour laws, tax rules, benefits, and company policies.
  13. Canadian Payroll Responsibilities (via local payroll provider): Oversee the end-to-end Canadian payroll process in collaboration with a third-party provider (ADP); act as the main contact between the company and the payroll vendor; collect, review, and validate payroll input data; review vendor-generated payroll reports, validate for accuracy, and approve payroll for disbursement.
What you need to succeed:
  • 5+ years of experience in payroll, with strong exposure to multi-state US payroll.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations (US); familiarity with Canadian payroll standards is a plus.
  • Proficient in ADP or similar payroll systems; experience with Workday or other HRIS is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and reconciliation skills, with experience working with large datasets and Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions and regions.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining alignment with global processes.
  • Experience with payroll tax filings and year-end processes.
  • Experience with equity payroll is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with working in a global, fast-paced environment is an advantage.

Salary range: $100,000 - $119,000 per year.
