Qualifications

• 10+ years progressive payroll experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role within a large, multi-state organization.
• Experience with U.S. payroll operations and Canadian payroll requirements; handling multi-entity payrolls.
• Strong knowledge of payroll processing, tax, wage-and-hour, controls, and year-end reporting.
• Experience leading payroll systems implementations and cross-functional projects.

Responsibilities

• Direct end-to-end payroll operations for U.S. and Canadian employees, including regular and off-cycle payrolls, new hires, terminations, leaves, retroactive pay, bonuses, commissions, equity-related earnings, deductions, garnishments, and year-end processing.
• Ensure payrolls are processed accurately, timely, and in accordance with calendars and procedures.
• Support tax compliance across federal, state/provincial/local levels, including reconciliations and reporting.
• Maintain SOX-based internal controls and lead audits with cross-functional partners.
• Develop payroll metrics and dashboards covering accuracy, timeliness, and vendor performance.
• Lead payroll technology initiatives (Workday, ADP, time & attendance, integrations) and process improvements.
• Recruit, coach, and retain a high-performing team and manage performance.
