Job summary

Paradromics is seeking a hands-on Senior Payroll Specialist to oversee payroll operations and support payroll compliance in a growing organization. You will own end-to-end U.S. payroll, coordinate with Finance and People, and strengthen controls while ensuring timely, accurate payments.

Working with hourly staff and managers, you will troubleshoot issues, manage tax setup across states, and contribute to audits and reporting. A CPP or equivalent experience is valued.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive payroll experience with end-to-end U.S. payroll.
• Experience administering payroll for employees across multiple states.
• Strong knowledge of payroll taxation and year-end reporting.
• Experience with payroll journal entries and GL reconciliation.
• Advanced Excel/Sheets skills (lookup, pivot, reconciliation).
• Ability to troubleshoot payroll issues and implement corrective actions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to manage deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Discretion handling confidential employee data.

Responsibilities

• Manage full payroll cycle in Rippling for the U.S. employee base.
• Validate inputs: new hires, terminations, changes, bonuses.
• Verify deductions, benefits, garnishments, reimbursements.
• Review payroll registers and obtain approvals.
• Prepare funding summaries and communicate cash needs.
• Process corrections per approvals and documentation standards.
• Resolve timesheet issues with hourly staff and managers.
• Respond to payroll inquiries promptly.
• Maintain payroll records and audit trail.
• Coordinate workers' compensation codes with People team.
• Maintain accurate payroll data like locations and deductions.
• Troubleshoot issues with Rippling support.
• Develop reports for payroll review and management.
• Coordinate payroll tax setup across states/localities.
• Address payroll tax notices and inquiries.
• Reconcile quarterly/annual payroll reports.
• Coordinate year-end activities like W-2 review.
• Maintain documentation for filings.
• Support payroll audits and information requests.
• Identify opportunities to reduce manual work.
• Train backup personnel for payroll inputs.
