Job summary

Stamford Health is seeking a Payroll Manager to lead day-to-day payroll operations, ensuring accurate, timely pay and full compliance across entities necessary for our workforce. You will oversee timekeeping validation, tax activities, audits, and year-end processing, supervise staff, and collaborate with Human Resources, Benefits, Finance and external vendors.

Ideal candidates have 5–7 years of progressive payroll experience, a bachelor’s degree, and a proven ability to manage complex

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-7 years of progressive payroll experience with supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or 10+ years of relevant payroll experience.
  • Experience in large, multi-state healthcare payroll environments preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state and local payroll laws and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for all entities and cycles on schedule.
  • Validate inputs and calculations, including timekeeping, earnings, deductions and taxes.
  • Maintain payroll controls, audits and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with wage and hour regulations across jurisdictions.
  • Oversee payroll tax activities and year-end processing, including W-2s.
  • Supervise payroll staff and collaborate with HR, Benefits, Finance and vendors.
