Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System in Linthicum, MD seeks a senior leader to direct the Financial Operations for the Payroll Shared Services Center, establishing internal controls and policy procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

The role collaborates with Human Resources and IT, manages payroll staff, oversees budgeting and performance standards, and advises the VP Finance on financial matters to support accurate reporting and efficient service

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Four (4) years of Leadership experience.
• Seven years’ progressively responsible experience in financial management, disbursement management, general accounting or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with HR and IT to develop and implement payroll initiatives across the health system.
• Ensure Payroll function uses technology to deliver high-quality service while meeting SLAs and scope of services.
• Directs Payroll managers for daily responsibilities and ensures policy compliance.
• Oversees payroll operations including budgeting, staffing, and resource management.
• Develops and communicates corporate financial policies to control assets and ensure accurate results.
• Advises the VP Finance and System Controller on financial matters and strategic initiatives.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements including tax regulations and reporting.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
