Job summary

AutoNation is hiring a Payroll Support Manager to lead a team of Supervisors and Coordinators, ensuring accurate payroll processing and regulatory compliance across the nation. You will coach staff, manage escalations, and drive process improvements in a high-volume automotive environment.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) required.
• Minimum five years’ experience in-house payroll processing, preferably in automotive dealership.
• Solid knowledge of federal, state, municipal payroll requirements and compliance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, especially with store personnel.
• Strong coaching, employee development, and teamwork skills.
• Proficient in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Manage payroll escalations with NPRC, HR, field associates, and store leadership.
• Ensure SLA attainment and high customer satisfaction.
• Develop payroll team and conduct periodic performance reviews.
• Identify improvements to efficiency and payroll data flow.
• Prepare and validate payroll reports for government agencies and stakeholders.
• Cross-train in other department roles as needed.
