Job summary

New Horizon Academy in Plymouth, MN is seeking a Payroll Manager to lead our payroll function across multiple states and entities. You will supervise the payroll team, ensure timely processing, and partner with Finance, HR, and school leaders to deliver accurate payroll services.

The role focuses on compliance with wage and hour laws, maintaining HRIS payroll configurations (Paycom), and driving process improvements. Strong communication and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• 5+ years payroll experience in multi-state, multi-entity environments.
• 3+ years of experience managing a team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of payroll processing across multiple entities and states.
• Lead day-to-day payroll operations and ensure deadlines are met.
• Review payroll audits, adjustments, off-cycle payrolls and year-end activities.
• Ensure accurate processing of earnings, deductions, taxes, and benefits.
