Job summary

Herrick Technology Laboratories (HTL) in Germantown, MD, is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead all aspects of payroll administration for our government contracting business. You will manage bi-weekly multi-state payroll, ensure compliance with federal/state/local regulations, and serve as the primary payroll resource for employees and management.

Responsibilities include end-to-end payroll processing, payroll changes, labor accounting, and coordinating tax filings.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of payroll administration experience.
• Experience processing multi-state payroll.
• Strong understanding of payroll tax laws and payroll compliance.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end processing of bi-weekly, multi-state payroll.
• Process changes: hires, promotions, salary adjustments, bonuses, deductions, terminations.
• Ensure payroll accuracy, on-time processing, regulatory compliance.
• Maintain payroll records and earnings history.
• Coordinate payroll tax filings and year-end reporting.
• Serve as primary payroll resource for employees and management.
• Administer employee timekeeping in Deltek Costpoint.
• Review and post labor transactions.
• Ensure labor is charged to contracts and indirect pools.
• Process labor corrections and support labor reporting.
