Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics in Redwood City seeks a senior payroll leader to oversee full-cycle US payroll, including equity and bonus management, for a fast-growing biopharma company.

You will manage the payroll team, ensure SOX compliance, audits, and tax reporting, and collaborate with HR, Benefits, Tax, and Accounting.

Experience with ADP Workforce Now and public company payroll is required; travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• 10+ years payroll experience with 3+ years in leadership.
• Experience with SOX, audits, and regulatory compliance.
• Hands-on ADP Workforce Now expertise.
• Strong PM, confidentiality, and team development skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle payroll using ADP Workforce Now.
• Support equity compensation processing (RSUs, ISOs, ESPP).
• Supervise payroll team and manage tax reporting and compliance.
• Collaborate with HR, Benefits, Tax, and Accounting.
• Ensure SOX compliance and conduct audits; implement process improvements.
