JAS Forwarding (USA), Inc. seeks a hands-on Payroll Manager to lead the payroll function for 900+ employees, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant processing. The role partners with HR, Finance, Benefits, and external vendors to deliver a high-quality payroll experience.

You will be the payroll subject-matter expert for Workday, ADP Smart Compliance, 401(k) administration, and HSA management, establishing strong controls, audits, and continuous process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, Business Administration, or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive payroll experience, including oversight of payroll operations.
• Experience processing payroll for 900+ employees.
• Hands-on with Workday and ADP Smart Compliance.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax requirements.
• Experience with 401(k) administration and payroll contributions/HSA management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the accurate and timely processing of payroll for 900+ employees.
• Provide direction and oversight to payroll team members to ensure deadlines and service expectations are met.
• Review payroll for accuracy including earnings, deductions, taxes, benefits, and other transactions.
• Establish and maintain payroll controls, review procedures, and reconciliation processes.
• Lead, coach, and develop payroll team members.
• Partner with HR, Benefits, Finance, and external vendors to resolve payroll matters.
• Serve as payroll SME for Workday and oversee related outputs and integrations.
• Ensure payroll tax filings and payments are accurate and timely.
• Maintain documentation and audit trails for payroll transactions and processes.
• Support audits and continuous improvement of payroll controls.
