Job summary

Ultipro is seeking a Senior Payroll Manager to lead a small payroll team and own end-to-end payroll operations across multi-state jurisdictions. The role partners with HR, Finance, and third-party providers to ensure accurate and timely payrolls.

The ideal candidate has at least 7 years of payroll experience, CPP certification, and strong Excel skills, with hands-on leadership and a focus on controls and audits. This on-site role requires credibility and decisiveness in a complex workforce.

Qualifications

• Experience with end-to-end payroll processing and payroll taxes.
• Ability to manage and develop payroll staff and meet deadlines.
• Experience overseeing multi-state payroll and ensuring accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach 2–4 payroll professionals, set priorities, and provide feedback.
• Oversee end-to-end payroll operations to ensure accurate, timely pay.
• Act as backup to Director of Payroll during absences or high volume.
• Review payroll results and reports to catch errors before finalization.
• Handle complex earnings, deductions, taxes, and off-cycle payments as needed.
• Drive improvements to payroll processes, system configurations, and controls.
