Job summary

Hilcorp seeks a Senior Payroll Administrator to manage multi-entity payroll processing, ensure data integrity, and meet federal, state, and local tax reporting requirements.

You will oversee weekly, bi-weekly, and off-cycle payrolls across entities, maintain Workday records, and collaborate with HR, IT, and finance to improve processes.

Requirements include five years of payroll experience, Workday familiarity, and FPC certification; CPP preferred; strong Excel skills and confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • Minimum five years of payroll processing experience.
  • Experience with multi-entity payroll and timekeeping systems.
  • Knowledge of federal/state payroll taxes and garnishments.
  • Proficient with Excel; data accuracy.
  • Strong confidentiality and stakeholder management.
  • Oil and gas industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage payroll across multiple entities and processing cycles.
  • Maintain payroll records, hires, terminations, and changes.
  • Validate hours and earnings against timekeeping reports.
  • Prepare payroll registers and cycle documentation.
  • Process deductions (garnishments, child support, tax levies).
  • Oversee direct deposit and resolve payment issues.
  • Initiate and reconcile payroll-related wires and 401(k)/HSA contributions.
  • Support quarterly tax activities and audits.
  • Collaborate with HR, IT, AP to improve processes.
  • Deliver payroll training materials.
