Aston Carter is seeking a Payroll Team Lead in Chicago, IL. This hybrid role oversees end-to-end multi-state payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and partnering with HR, Finance, and leadership across nine companies.

The role requires a strong background in multi-state payroll, Workday Payroll, and leadership experience, with CPP designation preferred. The position offers a contract-to-hire path and on-site collaboration on payroll processing days.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of payroll experience with lead responsibilities.
• Deep knowledge of multi-state payroll, FLSA, wage/hour laws.
• CPP designation and Workday experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Lead end-to-end multi-state payroll processing for exempt and nonexempt employees.
• Ensure data integrity by auditing and entering payroll information.
• Serve as escalation point for complex payroll questions and year-end processing.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Partner with HR, Finance, and leadership across entities.
• Develop payroll reporting and analytics; support month-end close.
• Identify opportunities to automate and improve efficiency.
