Job summary

Long Wave Inc. in Oklahoma City is seeking an experienced payroll professional to manage the full-cycle payroll for multiple companies. This on-site role emphasizes accuracy, regulatory compliance, and timely processing of semi-monthly, biweekly, and weekly payrolls.

You will review time entries, ensure multi-state tax policy accuracy, reconcile quarterly 941s, and support HR with 401k compliance. Strong Excel skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of progressive payroll experience in multi-state environments.
• Knowledge of accounting and time and labor systems.
• Familiarity with wage and labor laws in the U.S.
• Proficient in MS Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups) and Office.

Responsibilities

• Process full-cycle payroll for multiple companies.
• Review and correct time entries; provide support.
• Maintain current multi-state tax policies and compliance.
• Reconcile quarterly 941 and assist with year-end processes.
• Ensure payroll laws and regulations are followed; assist with audits.
• Run and distribute payroll reports; assist with tax updates and testing.
• Collaborate with HR for 401k compliance and benefits processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Primary Function:

This position is responsible for the overall successful completion of a Semi-Monthly, Biweekly, and Weekly payroll as well as generating all reports associated with payroll administration.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for all roles and responsibilities in processing a full cycle payroll for multiple companies
2. Ensure all time entry is reviewed and corrected as necessary and provide support.
3. Responsible for ensuring multi state tax policy is current and accurate at all times
4. Responsible for quarterly 941 reconciliation
5. Proficient with local, state, and federal wage and labor laws, employee benefit plans, employment practices, payroll taxes, and other regulatory and procedural requirements. Ensures compliance with all payroll laws and regulations.
6. Research payroll issues/discrepancies and process necessary corrections.
7. Analyze and audit payroll data for payroll-related activity
8. Run and distribute various payroll reports, assist with payroll tax updates and testing as assigned.
9. Assist with year-end processes, payroll audits, and special projects as required.
10. Works directly with HR to ensure full 401k compliance
11. Perform other duties as assigned.
    

Work Conditions:

Employee will be working within an office environment. Employee may be expected to travel on occasion to locations where specific attire is necessary.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 5 - 7 years progressive payroll processing and administration experience in a multi-state, multi-location environment.
• Knowledge of Accounting required.
• Knowledge of Time and Labor systems required.
• Must be flexible and able to work well under pressure to meet deadlines, changing priorities and last minute changes.
• Abreast of local, state, and federal wage and labor laws, employee benefit plans, employment practices, payroll taxes, and other regulatory and procedural requirements in the U.S.
• MS Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.) and Office skills.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.

Preferred Requirements

• Payroll Certification preferred.
