Job summary

Anders Group, LLC is seeking an experienced Payroll & Billing Operations Manager to own full lifecycle payroll and client invoicing. You will lead a hands-on team, drive processing accuracy across ADP, VMS, and Salesforce, and ensure multistate compliance while optimizing workflows.

The role blends strategic oversight with daily operational execution, focusing on accuracy, audit readiness, and scalable processes in a growing staffing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience processing payroll and billing using ADP Workforce Now and SmartCompliance.
• Experience in staffing industry and multistate payroll.
• Proficiency with VMS platforms (Fieldglass, ShiftWise or similar) and Salesforce.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to lead a team and manage competing priorities.
• Knowledge of SIT/SUI tax requirements and regulatory updates.
• Willingness to stay hands-on while leading a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop Payroll and Billing team members; manage workloads, productivity, and performance.
• Oversee daily workflow including billing queues, payroll processing timelines, approvals, and issue resolution.
• Oversee end-to-end payroll processing including timecard audits, payroll runs, and adjustments.
• Ensure accurate payroll processing through ADP and internal systems, including deductions and garnishments.
• Provide exemplary service to candidates, clients and internal team members.
• Manage multistate payroll compliance and regulatory updates.
• Leverage ADP SmartCompliance to maintain accurate tax setup and filings.
• Oversee billing operations including invoice preparation and submission through VMS and Salesforce.
• Ensure billing aligns with contract terms, rates, and overtime rules; monitor approvals.
• Partner with Accounts Receivable to support collections and improve cash flow.
• Support month-end close activities, reporting, and reconciliation between payroll and billing.
• Maintain organized, audit-ready payroll and billing records and documentation.
• Identify process gaps and implement improvements to increase accuracy, speed, and scalability.
• Ensure alignment between payroll and billing processes to reduce errors and rework.
• Establish and maintain process documentation and training materials.
