Job summary

McKesson Corporation in Richmond, VA is seeking a Sr. Accountant - Payroll & Benefits to join our Corporate Accounting team. You will own monthly payroll close, benefits accounting, and related financial reporting ensuring GAAP accuracy.

Collaborating with Shared Services, HR, and external auditors, you will drive process improvements, automation, and preparation for audits and annual budgets, including support for upcoming separation activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; CPA preferred
• Experience with payroll accounting and close processes
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
• Experience with process automation preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly financial close for payroll and benefits accounting
• Reconcile payroll general ledger accounts and investigate variances
• Oversee offshore team accounting activities and balance reconciliations
• Collaborate with Payroll, HR, Benefits, and external providers to resolve issues
• Prepare schedules for management reporting and external audits
