Job summary

Soni Resources is partnering with a growing organization to hire a Senior Payroll Analyst who will run multi-state payroll, manage complex adjustments, and support system configuration in a high-volume environment.

The role is the payroll expert on the team, responsible for end-to-end issue resolution, process improvements, and ensuring accurate, compliant payroll operations across states. UKG Pro experience strongly preferred; ADP experience considered.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of U.S. multi-state payroll experience in a high-volume environment.
• Strong experience with complex adjustments and prior-period corrections.
• Hands-on reconciliation experience (tax, benefits, 401(k), GL).
• Advanced Excel skills and comfort auditing large data sets.
• Public company experience and SOX familiarity are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly, biweekly, and monthly multi-state payroll for 4,000+ employees.
• Handle complex transactions: reversals, voids, retro pay, off-cycle runs, and prior-period corrections.
• Perform payroll, tax, benefits, 401(k), and GL reconciliations; resolve variances and tax notices.
• Audit large payroll data sets and drive root-cause analysis for recurring issues.
• Partner with HR, Finance, Accounting, Benefits, and vendors to resolve escalations.
• Support payroll system maintenance, integrations, upgrades, and configuration (earnings/deductions).
• Lead process improvements, strengthen controls, and contribute to payroll governance.
• Provide guidance to the junior team members.

Soni Resources is partnering with a growing organization seeking a Senior Payroll Analyst to run multi-state payroll, manage complex adjustments, strengthen payroll governance, and support system configuration in a high-volume environment.

This role is the team’s payroll expert - solving issues end-to-end, improving processes, and ensuring accurate, compliant payroll operations.

What You’ll Do:

• Process weekly, biweekly, and monthly multi-state payroll for 4,000+ employees
• Handle complex transactions: reversals, voids, retro pay, overpayments/repayments, off-cycle runs, and prior-period corrections
• Perform payroll, tax, benefits, 401(k), and GL reconciliations; resolve variances and tax notices
• Audit large payroll data sets and drive root-cause analysis for recurring issues.
• Partner with HR, Finance, Accounting, Benefits, and vendors to resolve escalations
• Support payroll system maintenance, integrations, upgrades, and configuration (earnings/deductions)
• Lead process improvements, strengthen controls, and contribute to payroll governance
• Provide guidance to the junior team members

What You Bring:

• Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and handle sensitive issues
• UKG Pro strongly preferred; ADP or similar-sized system experience considered

• Public company experience strongly preferred

Compensation: $45 - $50/ Hr

Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
