Job summary

General Atomics is seeking a Payroll Accountant III to join the Payroll Department in San Diego, CA. The role supports payroll and general accounting functions, ensuring GAAP-compliant transactions are recorded, reconciled, and reported with strong internal controls.

The ideal candidate will manage journal entries, GL reconciliations, month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, and contribute to process improvements within Payroll and related departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting/finance or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, CAS, and FAR.
• Experience with SAP and SuccessFactors preferred; proficient with Excel/Word.

Responsibilities

• Maintain payroll accounting processes for accurate payroll data and reporting.
• Prepare and reconcile payroll journal entries and general ledger accounts.
• Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of payroll-related accounts.
