Job summary

Wonderschool, Inc. is seeking a senior payments engineer to own and advance the platform handling billions in transactions. You will work with a small team to consolidate legacy integrations into a clean, reliable system and directly engage with customers to understand real-world edge cases.

You will build integrations across banking, Stripe, payroll, and billing while ensuring compliance and high reliability in a fast-paced environment in San Francisco.

Qualifications

• Senior engineer with a strong payments background and experience building payment systems and integrations.
• Excellent attention to detail; finance background is a plus.
• Comfortable with payments, banking, and card regulations.
• Bias toward action and customer-facing work.

Responsibilities

• Build and refactor a payments system consolidated from multiple legacy integrations.
• Maintain integrations across banking, debit cards, Stripe, SAP, payroll, and billing platform.
• Own orchestration and reconciliation layer across fintech partners.
• Design for correctness in money movement, with customer-reported failure modes in mind.
• Collaborate daily with product to build, ship, measure, and iterate.
