Job summary

U.S. Bank seeks a Senior Technology Architect to lead enterprise-scale architecture across payment platforms and digital transactions. You will translate business needs into scalable, secure technical solutions and mentor engineers across portfolios.

You will partner with product, security, and operations to drive cloud modernization, API-first design, and high-availability initiatives, ensuring robust performance and governance.

Qualifications

• Enterprise Architecture experience designing large-scale platforms.
• Strong expertise in Payments, Merchant Services, Gateways, or high-volume processing.
• Deep knowledge of Cloud Architecture and container-based platforms.
• Experience designing and governing API, Microservices, and Event-Driven Architectures.
• Strong Security Architecture, authentication, encryption, and risk management.
• System Integration experience with third-party connectivity.
• Experience with High Availability, disaster recovery, observability, reliability.
• Excellent Technical Leadership and governance skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and governance of enterprise payment platforms.
• Develop scalable solutions supporting cloud modernization and API-first strategies.
• Define architecture standards, roadmaps, and engineering best practices.
• Partner with business, product, security, and engineering teams to translate requirements.
• Provide technical leadership for complex integrations across platforms and vendors.
• Drive resiliency, performance, and operational excellence across critical systems.
• Evaluate new tech and drive innovative, secure solutions.
