Job summary

Playtomic is seeking a Payments Backend Engineer to build robust, scalable payment solutions and APIs. You will integrate gateways, ensure secure processing, and collaborate with product and frontend teams to deliver high-quality features.

Located in Madrid or remote, you will contribute to a fast-paced, multicultural engineering team, using Spring Boot 3, Java 17, MongoDB, and Kubernetes. Excellent English communication is required.

Qualifications

Experience with payment gateway integrations and secure transaction processing.
Proven experience as a Backend Engineer.
Experience with Spring Boot 3, Java 17, MongoDB, Kubernetes.
Strong communication and ability to translate complex technical concepts for stakeholders.
Experience designing, developing, and maintaining APIs.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain payments APIs and services for robust, scalable solutions.
Collaborate with product, frontend, and design teams to deliver features on time.
Integrate third-party payment gateways and ensure secure, compliant processing.
Optimize backend performance via profiling, code reviews, and best practices.
