Job summary

Rocket Lab, based in Long Beach, CA, is seeking a Senior Payload Integration Engineer I to lead hands-on payload integration for Electron/HASTE launches. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure successful spacecraft interface integration and deliverable ICDs, with frequent travel to customer sites and launch locations worldwide.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in engineering, 5+ years’ related experience, and an active U.S. government clearance (Secret/TS/SCI).

Qualifications

• Active US Government clearance (Secret or TS/SCI) preferred.
• Previous launch vehicle or space hardware integration experience required.
• Ability to understand technical constraints related to payload integration.
• Advanced presentation and technical writing skills expected.
• Willingness to travel to launch sites and customer sites (including overseas).

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on payload integration activities (fit checks, dispenser, launch vehicle integration).
• Assist on-site integration planning and daily coordination during launch site integration periods.
• Provide inputs for development/verification of Launch Vehicle to Spacecraft ICDs.
• Create and execute assembly integration and test instructions.
• Provide customer support coordinating with internal engineering staff.
• Coordinate with engineering on mechanical/electrical design needs per mission requirements.
