Job summary

Rocket Lab in Long Beach, CA seeks an experienced Senior Payload Integration Engineer I to lead hands-on payload integration for Electron and related vehicles. You will interface with customer teams, support on-site integration, and help develop interface documentation.

A sensitive clearance and travel to worldwide sites are required. The role demands a strong background in launch hardware, multidisciplinary collaboration, and the ability to troubleshoot complex integration challenges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical discipline plus 5+ years of applicable experience.
• Active US Government security clearance Secret or TS/SCI.
• Previous launch vehicle or space hardware integration experience.
• Ability to understand technical constraints related to payload integration.
• Advanced presentation and technical writing skills.
• Ability to travel to launch sites and customer sites including overseas (New Zealand and others).

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on payload integration activities (fit checks, dispenser, integration).
• Assist on-site integration planning and daily coordination during launch site integration.
• Provide inputs for Launch Vehicle to Spacecraft ICD development and verification.
• Create and execute assembly integration and test instructions.
• Provide customer support with internal technical staff as needed.
• Coordinate with engineering on mechanical and electrical design needs based on mission requirements.
