Job summary

Stratolaunch is seeking a Sr or Staff-level Mechanical or Structural Engineer to lead the Talon mechanical interface design and build for integration of experimental customer payloads on Talon-A hypersonic vehicles. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, program management, and customers to ensure high-performance, reliable payload integration.

Qualifications

• Proficient with 3D CAD modeling, assembly management, and PDM.
• Excellent written & verbal communication.
• Ability to communicate technical challenges to varied audiences.
• Ability to work autonomously and prioritize tasks.
• Ability to acquire and maintain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Define interface and integration requirements across teams.
• Design and analyze mechanical and avionics packaging of payloads.
• Perform structural and thermal analysis of components and assemblies.
• Create and manage 3D CAD models for Talon-A payloads.
• Spec and order hardware to fabricate designs.
• Resolve hardware interface issues between teams.
