Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2–5 years of experience in a physician office or related setting.
• Preferred medical office experience.

Responsibilities

• Handles telephone calls from patients and staff; forwards calls requiring triage.
• Performs receptionist duties with attention to detail and professionalism.
• Verifies health insurance information and educates patients on regulations; collects payments and records data.
• Performs data entry of service charges and assigns diagnostic codes.
• Coordinates information with Central Billing Office to ensure charges are captured.
• Acts as subject matter expert; answers questions and resolves complex issues.
• Provides training and support to new and existing staff.
• Safety-sensitive position; maintain alertness and safe work practices.
