Qualifications

• Minimum three years of experience in a health care setting, including commercial, managed care and government health insurance plans.
• One year of experience in insurance plan authorization and referrals; or medical billing.
• Strong customer service and patient-centered focus; proficiency with computers and Microsoft tools.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with patients, clinical staff, and providers to coordinate services.
• Prioritizes and completes patient demographic and payer data before appointments.
• Verifies eligibility and benefits using online tools and health plan sites; contacts patients to obtain data when needed.
• Maintains accuracy in EPIC registrations and adheres to policies and procedures.
