UPMC Hamot in Erie, PA is hiring a full-time Senior Patient Care Technician to support 5 South. The role emphasizes nursing support, ADL assistance, vital signs monitoring, and specimen collection, with opportunities to perform 12-lead EKGs and basic phlebotomy as needed.

You will work with nurses to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while adhering to safety protocols and hospital standards. Candidates with prior clinical coordination experience are preferred.

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years general healthcare experience preferred.
• Enrollment in PT/OT/PA program with clinical rotations or health sciences degree.
• Successful completion of UPMC cardiac rhythm course as required.
• CPR certification required; ACLS preferred.

Mansioni

• Assist with ADLs: bathing, feeding, transporting, toileting, ambulating, turning and repositioning.
• Perform point-of-care testing: including blood glucose, vital signs, I&O, weights.
• Assist with ECGs and phlebotomy as directed by RN or provider.
• Monitor telemetry and ensure patient safety indicators are followed.
• Document in the medical record according to established procedures.
• Transport patients and assist with meal delivery and environmental safety.
• Identify learning needs and communicate with unit leadership.
• Support unit operations and participate in quality initiatives.
