UPMC Hamot in Erie, PA, is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Patient Care Technician (PCT) for night shifts on 6 South. The role focuses on direct patient care, mobility, telemetry, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, compassionate care.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, healthcare experience or CNA/PCT training, and CPR/BLS certification. Completion of UPMC PCT class and eRecord training is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of general healthcare experience preferred, or equivalent CNA/PCT pathway.
• EMT/Paramedic enrollment or health sciences program with clinical rotation.
• Successful completion of UPMC patient care technician class and eRecord training.
• CPR/BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including ADLs and mobility.
• Perform vitals, blood glucose testing, telemetry monitor setup, and documentation.
• Assist with patient education under RN supervision and ensure safety.
• Response to call lights, transport, and assist with clerical tasks as needed.
• Maintain patient records accurately and report changes in condition promptly.
