Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide direct patient care and assist with unit coordination under RN supervision.

You will perform basic nursing procedures, document care in EMR, monitor vitals, and support admissions, discharges and transfers. Successful candidates typically hold a HS diploma and have nursing program plans or nursing-related experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
• 1 year in an acute or long-term care facility OR enrolled in an Associate's in Nursing or Bachelor's in Nursing program.
• Basic computer skills.
• Proficient in IV insertion, phlebotomy, straight catheterization, and basic cardiac dysrhythmia training.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care and documents care in the EMR.
• Assists RN with care of acutely ill patients and unit coordination.
• Performs activities of daily living, vital signs, specimen collection, and transport.
• Participates in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives and maintains a clean environment.
