Job summary

The US Oncology Network’s Texas Oncology clinic in The Woodlands, TX is seeking a Patient Benefits Representative to join the team. This full-time role focuses on educating patients about insurance coverage and benefits, assessing financial eligibility, and maintaining updated insurance information in the system.

The position supports the Oncology Department at the 9180 Pinecroft #600 clinic, with typical hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm, and opportunities for level 1 or Sr based on

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) required.
• Demonstrate knowledge of CPT coding and HCPCS coding application.
• Must be able to verbally communicate clearly and utilize the appropriate terminology.
• Must complete required e-learning courses within 90 days of occupying position.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients on insurance coverage, benefits, co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses.
• Assess patients' ability to meet expenses and discuss payment arrangements; educate on financial assistance programs.
• Complete and forward reimbursement and liability forms to billing.
• Obtain insurance pre-authorization or referral approval codes prior to treatment.
• Verify and update patient demographics and insurance coverage in the system.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and related guidelines.
