Job summary

CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy is seeking a Patient Access Clerk to support registration and admitting workflows across hospital access points, including Emergency Department and main registration. Qualifications

High School General Studies graduate (or GED) upon hire.
1-3 years of experience in patient access, healthcare registration, or related healthcare administrative role.
Experience with insurance verification, benefits review, and/or registration workflows required.

Responsibilities

Perform patient registration and admitting functions across hospital access areas.
Handle moderately complex registration and encounter scenarios with insurance verification and benefits review.
Communicate patient financial responsibility and collect payments when appropriate.
Support continuity by flexing across access points during high-volume periods.
Serve as informal resource to PAR I staff on workflows and systems.
Collaborate with internal departments to resolve access-related issues.
