Qualifications

• Reading and numerical competency.
• Minimum of one year of patient scheduling and healthcare patient registration.
• Working knowledge of third party payer requirements, healthcare billing, and strong customer service experience.
• Ability to prioritize and work organized without constant supervision.
• Must handle detail work accurately and rapidly.
• Experience in basic computer use, data entry, and medical terminology.
• Ability to calculate and process payments and daily batches with cash reconciliation.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-services functions for outpatient diagnostic procedures and complete scheduling, registration and insurance verification process.
• Identify patient and maintain accurate patient information within the EMR.
• Collect financial information including payment for the patient/guarantor; obtain insurance information, benefits and authorizations.
• Calculate insurance co-pay, deductible and co-insurance; obtain medical and financial consents and signatures as required.
• Provide information to patient concerning Patient Rights, Privacy and Advance Care Directives.
• Schedule all outpatient procedures in a timely and accurate manner per policy and protocol.
