Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC in Seattle, WA is seeking a Patent Attorney to shape the future of consumer electronics and the software powering them by protecting innovations behind Amazon's devices and experiences.

You will work with product managers, engineers, and scientists to identify protectable inventions, coordinate US and international patent filings, and provide direct IP counseling across multiple teams and locales. Occasional domestic travel is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of post bar admission legal experience.
• Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent.
• Registered to practice before the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)

Responsibilities

• Engage product managers, developers, engineers, and scientists to identify protectable aspects of their innovations
• Work with outside counsel on the preparation, filing, and prosecution of US and foreign patent applications
• Provide direct client counseling on IP issues arising from product development and business transactions
• Analyze the patent portfolio and assess IP risk from third parties
