Job summary

Stinson LLP is seeking an experienced patent agent to join the patent prosecution group of our Intellectual Property and Technology Division.

The ideal candidate will draft and prosecute U.S. and foreign patent applications, perform patentability analyses, and contribute to freedom-to-operate and due diligence projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• S. Patent & Trademark Office registration.
• Exceptional writing, analytical, and communication skills.
• Minimum 5 years of patent preparation and prosecution experience.
• Experience managing patent prosecution docket and ownership of applications.
• Experience collaborating with supervising partners, patent admins, paralegals, and docketing specialists.
• Law firm or in-house IP experience.

Responsibilities

• Draft and prosecute U.S. and foreign patent applications.
• Provide patentability assessments and assist with freedom-to-operate and due diligence assessments.
• Maintain client patent portfolio and manage deadlines.
• Coordinate with foreign law firms and clients for filings and correspondence.
• Meet billable hour target of 1650 per year.
