Job summary

Stinson LLP is seeking an experienced patent agent to join the patent prosecution group within the Intellectual Property and Technology Division. The role involves drafting and prosecuting U.S.

and foreign patent applications, providing patentability assessments, and assisting with freedom-to-operate and due-diligence matters. Compensation includes competitive salary, benefits, and a bonus structure based on billable hours targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• S. Patent & Trademark Office registration.
• Exceptional writing, analytical, and communication skills.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution.
• Experience managing patent prosecution docket and ownership of patent applications.
• Ability to collaborate with supervising partners, patent staff, and docketing specialists.
• Law firm or in-house IP experience.

Responsibilities

• Draft and prosecute U.S. and foreign patent applications.
• Provide patentability assessments and assist with FTO and due diligence.
• Coordinate with foreign law firms and associates for filing abroad.
• Coordinate with clients for processing and legalization of documents.
• Maintain client patent portfolio and notify clients of deadlines.
• Prepare notices to clients regarding upcoming deadlines and billings.
• Meet billable hour target of 1650 per year.
• Other duties as assigned.
