Job summary

Hasbro is seeking a Patent Department professional with 4+ years to join our Patent Department in Rhode Island. The role supports patent clearance, due diligence and searching to back Hasbro's patent counsel.

Onsite weekly at HQ Boston, MA, with interim placement in Pawtucket, RI. Effective from January 4, 2027, the position will be onsite Tuesday–Thursday at Hasbros new HQ location in Boston, MA and interim at Pawtucket, RI or temporary Boston location.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of patent related concepts.
• Familiarity with Anaqua patent database management tool and related tasks.
• Experience searching USPTO, Google Patents and Espacenet for patents.
• Ability to use Claude for prior art searching to help process clearances.
• Excellent attention to detail and timeliness.
• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and Word tools.
• Excellent judgment, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Internally motivated and able to manage a diverse workload.

Responsibilities

• Update and maintain patent clearance spreadsheet for due diligence.
• Assist Patent Counsel with preliminary clearance searches across patent tools and databases.
• Attend Bi-weekly inventor relations meetings and record new features and legal updates.
• Attend quarterly brand meetings and record clearance status.
• Download weekly issued Patents and Published Patent Applications and organize by Assignee.
• Interface with internal legal colleagues, Brand Teams, Engineering and Outside Counsel as needed.
