Job summary

Angel of the Winds Casino Resort in Arlington, WA hires a Pastry Baker starting at $24.00/hr to support the Pastry Chef with high-volume production of quality baked goods. You will mentor the assistant baker, forecast usage, manage inventory, and follow HACCP guidelines and standardized recipes.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in bulk baking, strong attention to detail, reliability, and excellent verbal communication to coordinate with kitchen staff and supervisors.

Qualifications

• Exceptional guest service skills required.
• At least 2 years relevant work history required baking big bulk batches.
• Experience in high volume scratch baking, bread doughs, cake, wedding cake and overall pastry/cake decorating.
• Must be highly detail oriented, punctual, and reliable.
• Must be quick and efficient and have the ability to work in a fast paced and multi-tasking environment.
• Positive, willingness to learn, friendly and outgoing attitude required.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong and outgoing verbal communication skills in person - face to face.

Responsibilities

• Assists Pastry Chef in creating quality baked goods and coaching/mentoring the assistant baker.
• Assist in forecasting usage based on set pars using a product mix.
• Assist in maintaining inventory of bakery supplies.
• Understands and complies with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules; assist in policy adherence.
• Sets a good example for the assistant baker and maintains a clean, sanitary workspace.
• Reports equipment and food quality problems to supervisor promptly and passes along concerns from the assistant baker.
• Informs supervisor of product shortages and uses Standard Recipe Card for all products.
• Trains assistant bakers on equipment usage/knowledge and communicates with kitchen staff.
• Follows HAACP guidelines when handling, storing or stocking food items.
• Attends mandatory department, casino and training meetings; adheres to all policies.
