Job summary

Bonita Valley Baptist Church in Bonita, CA is seeking a full-time Senior Pastor to lead our congregation in biblical teaching, vision casting, and compassionate pastoral care. The Senior Pastor will preach regularly, shepherd the church, and oversee ministries, ensuring doctrinal integrity and community engagement.

The ideal candidate will have an MDIV or equivalent, a proven record of leadership, and a commitment to discipleship, evangelism, and servant leadership.

Qualifications

• Clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ.
• Strong spiritual and moral character per 1 Timothy 3:1-7.
• Agree with BVBC Constitution and By-laws.
• Daily devotional habit of Bible study and prayer.
• Proficient in biblical preaching and teaching.
• Ordination and formal biblical/pastoral training.
• Experience in leadership and ministry growth.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and pressure.
• Desire to serve long-term at BVBC.
• MDIV or equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Preach and teach the Word regularly as primary preacher.
• Share in leading public worship services.
• Administer Communion and Believer's Baptism.
• Officiate Biblical marriage ceremonies.
• Provide pastoral care and nurture.
• Recruit, train, and motivate disciples and leaders.
• Guard doctrinal integrity.
• Provide overall vision and leadership to BVBC.
• Collaborate with Elders to organize ministry.
• Develop leaders and oversee community groups.
• Supervise office staff.
• Represent the church to the community.
