Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual leadership for Briarwood Baptist Church locally and globally.
• Preach and teach biblically sound, Christ-centered sermons.
• Shepherd and disciple the congregation through biblical teaching and encouragement.
• Provide pastoral care through hospital/home visits, crisis ministry, counseling, and other times of need.
• Work with church leadership to develop ministries that strengthen discipleship, outreach, and missions.
• Represent Briarwood Baptist Church at civic, educational, and community events, fostering partnerships to share Christ.
• Promote prayer, unity, stewardship, and servant leadership throughout the church.

Briarwood Baptist Church in Blackshear, Georgia, is prayerfully seeking God’s man to serve as our next Senior Pastor. We are a loving, mission‑mindful Southern Baptist congregation committed to faithfully proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ, making disciples, and serving our community. We desire a pastor who will lead with biblical conviction, shepherd our congregation with compassion, and equip believers for ministry. This full‑time position will provide spiritual leadership by faithfully preaching and teaching God’s Word, caring for the spiritual needs of our church family, and leading our congregation in fulfilling the Great Commission.

Qualifications

• Be a man who has experienced salvation through Jesus Christ and has a clear call from God into pastoral ministry.
• Be an ordained Southern Baptist minister.
• Affirms and supports the doctrines and beliefs of the Southern Baptist Convention.
• Meets the biblical qualifications for a pastor found in 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:7–9.
• Demonstrates a strong commitment to biblical preaching, discipleship, evangelism, and missions.
• Possesses strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience serving as a Senior Pastor.
• Bachelor’s degree from a Southern Baptist–affiliated college or seminary.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual leadership for the church and faithfully lead Briarwood Baptist Church in proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ locally and around the world.
• Preach and teach the Word of God through biblically sound, Christ‑centered sermons.
• Shepherd and disciple the congregation through biblical teaching, encouragement, and spiritual guidance.
• Provide pastoral care through hospital visits, home visits, nursing home visits, crisis ministry, counseling, and other times of need.
• Work alongside church leadership to develop and implement ministries that strengthen discipleship, outreach, and missions.
• Represent Briarwood Baptist Church at civic, educational, and community events, fostering partnerships and opportunities to share Christ.
• Promote a healthy culture of prayer, unity, stewardship, and servant leadership throughout the church.
