Gano Baptist Church in Georgetown, KY, is seeking a full-time Senior Pastor called to faithfully preach and teach God’s Word, shepherd the church body, and lead with humility and biblical conviction.

The Senior Pastor will serve as the primary spiritual leader through preaching, discipleship, pastoral care, and leadership of staff and ministry teams, with a heart for unity, spiritual growth, and effective ministry.

Qualifications

• Clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a calling to pastoral ministry.
• Agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
• Minimum of 5 years of pastoral leadership experience.
• Demonstrated leadership experience leading and developing pastoral staff, church staff, and ministry teams.
• Strong biblical preaching, leadership, and communication skills.
• A heart for discipleship, shepherding, and serving the local church.
• Theological training or seminary education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral care, counseling, visitation, and encouragement to members.

Job description

Gano Baptist Church is prayerfully seeking a full-time Senior Pastor who is called to faithfully preach and teach God’s Word, shepherd the church body, and lead with humility, integrity, and biblical conviction. The Senior Pastor will serve as the primary spiritual leader of the church through preaching, discipleship, pastoral care, and leadership of staff and ministry teams. The ideal candidate will have a heart for shepherding people, equipping believers for ministry, and helping lead the church in unity and spiritual growth.

The responsibilities listed below are intended to provide a high-level overview of the role and are not intended to represent a complete list of pastoral duties and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Preach and teach the Word of God through biblically sound, Christ-centered, Spirit‑led sermons during Sunday morning and evening worship services, as well as mid‑week Bible study/services
• Lead and support the spiritual growth and discipleship of the church
• Provide pastoral care, counseling, visitation, and encouragement to members
• Maintain regular visitation and pastoral connection with shut‑ins, home‑bound members, hospital patients, and those in need of care
• Lead, encourage, and develop pastoral staff, church staff, and ministry teams
• Provide biblical leadership in support of the mission and ministries of the church
• Work alongside deacons and ministry leaders to encourage unity, strengthen ministry effectiveness, and support the church’s mission
• Maintain regular availability and engagement with church staff, ministry leaders, and church administration responsibilities
• Support the mission and outreach efforts of the church
