Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced Thermal Engineer to lead passive thermal design and analysis for the MK1 Lunar Lander. You will work across disciplines, develop hardware, and validate designs through testing and modeling.

The role requires a BS in mechanical or aerospace engineering and at least 8 years of relevant experience, with a focus on thermal design fundamentals, verification, and documentation. U.S. citizenship or equivalent status is required.

Qualifications

• BS in mechanical or aerospace engineering required.
• 8+ years of thermal engineering experience.
• Experience building and testing thermal hardware.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop module and vehicle level passive thermal assemblies from conception through development and flight operations.
• Support internal or external development of passive thermal components and assemblies.
• Collaborate with multi-discipline product teams to mature module and vehicle designs.
• Coordinate with the thermal analysis group to ensure compliance with requirements.
• Work with subsystem specifications, mission environments, and design standards.
• Produce component specs, test plans and test reports; analyze thermal performance with hand calculations and Thermal Desktop models.
