Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Passive Thermal Hardware Engineer III to design and develop passive thermal assemblies for the MK1 Lunar Lander from conception through flight operations. You will work with cross-functional teams to mature designs, perform thermal analysis, and define rigorous test plans to ensure mission success.

Preferred candidates have 5+ years in aerospace thermal engineering, experience with hardware verification, EBOMs, and manufacturing artifacts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of relevant Thermal Engineering experience.
• Expertise in thermal design fundamentals.
• Demonstrated experience building and testing thermal hardware.
• Understanding of aerospace hardware verification and validation process.
• Experience managing hardware EBOMs, drawings and manufacturing artifacts.
• Experience with cross-functional teams selecting materials and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of module and vehicle-level passive thermal assemblies from conception through development and flight operations.
• Support internal or external development of passive thermal components and assemblies.
• Collaborate with multi-discipline product teams to mature designs.
• Work with thermal analysis group.
• Produce component specifications, test plans and reports.
• Analyze thermal performance using various analysis methods.
• Develop development plans and make make-or-buy decisions for thermal components.
