Job summary

Virginia Recreation and Park Society seeks a seasoned leader to oversee property management, park operations, and capital projects. You will direct planning, budgeting, and staff supervision to maintain safe, sustainable park facilities.

The role involves coordinating with the Director, preparing SOPs, managing contracts, and guiding master planning and long-range initiatives. A Bachelor's degree and 6–8 years in construction, management, and maintenance with supervisory experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public recreation or related field.
• 6–8 years in construction, project management, and maintenance with supervisory responsibilities.
• OSHA 30-hour certification within 60 days of employment.
• Valid Virginia driver’s license.
• Pool Operator’s Certification within six months.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and supervision of park properties, buildings and operations.
• Develop and manage department budgets and capital projects.
• Oversee safety plans and site maintenance programs.
• Coordinate with Director and County staff on capital improvement projects.
• Prepare SOPs and manage contracts, bids, and cost updates.
• Present updates to Parks and Recreation Commission and other stakeholders.
