Job summary

Sortation Labs, LLC is seeking an Experienced Technical Lead for parcel sortation and material handling systems. You will direct bids and projects from concept to execution, ensuring customer specs and safety standards are met.

You will design layouts, create detailed engineering drawings in AutoCAD/Inventor, review system calculations, and lead cross-functional teams through proposals, design, and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in years of experience required.
• 5+ years in conveyance, material handling, or similar systems engineering.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor, Navisworks) and BIM.
• Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Outlook, Project) and cost analysis ability.
• Ability to review detailed customer specifications and lead multiple bids.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical lead on bids and projects ensuring designs meet requirements, safety regs, and standards.
• Design automated parcel sortation and handling layouts from concept to detail.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure consistency with engineering standards.
• Engage with customers to capture site-specific requirements accurately.
• Create and review detailed engineering designs, calculations, and drawings.
• Develop drawings in AutoCAD and 3D models in Inventor for proposals and planning.
• Coordinate design and estimating efforts across departments and partners.
• Provide guidance through planning, installation, and commissioning phases.
