Job summary

Huntsville Hospital in Alabama is seeking a qualified Paramedic to administer advanced life support care in pre-hospital settings, following state protocols and medical direction. You will assess injuries, stabilize patients, IV access, airway management, and transport to treatment centers.

Candidates must hold a High School diploma or GED, an NRP certificate, Alabama EMSP Paramedic license, CPR, EVOC training, and possess strong math, reading, and writing skills.

Qualifications

• Math skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedures.
• Writing: legibly write routine reports and correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Assesses nature and extent of illness or injury to establish medical procedures to be followed.
• Restores and stabilizes heart rhythm on pulseless, nonbreathing patient.
• Initiates intravenous fluids for medications or to replace fluids.
• Performs endotracheal intubation to open airways and ventilate patient.
• Transports sick and injured persons to treatment center.
• Communicates with hospital and physicians in person and by radio or telephone.
